The most expensive part of traveling to Southeast Asia is the flight, but if you do your research and plan ahead, you can get tickets as cheap as $1000. Once you get there, it’s insanely cheap! This trip was my second time to Bangkok, Thailand. We got a deal through Expedia for about $1300 that included our roundtrip fare, hotel, and breakfast for seven days.

Ummm, that’s pretty awesome. Fortunately, Mikey‘s awesome at finding deals. Plus he’s been to Bangkok more than I can keep count. It’s always nicer to have a personal tour guide – and he’s 6″3’ so he’s super easy to find if we ever get separated in a crowd. It definitely keeps me from having a full blown separation anxiety.

It takes roughly 24 hours to get to Bangkok from Atlanta. So getting just one layover in Narita was exciting news! It’s a rough trek for sure, but with the right travel partner, comfy headphones, a neck pillow, and less airports to dock, it’s not so horrible. Having the ramen to look forward to at the Narita airport also helps!
