Sweet Auburn Curb Market, 209 Edgewood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30303
This was one of my go to spots when I attended GSU. It’s great for coffee, dessert, quick snacks, and even a full meal if you have time to sit and chow down. They have ample seating areas scattered throughout the market so finding a table is never an issue.
Whenever I’m short on cash, I always get a chicken patty from Afrodish – a filling and hearty meat patty for a measly $2! If you want something a bit healthier, then grab a smoothie or salad from Rawesome Juicery. Their zucchini subbed spaghetti is incredible. If you’ve been stricken with a persisting sweet tooth, then try treating it with Sweet Auburn Bakery‘s chocolate covered strawberries! They’re super juicy! Their brownies look pretty darn good, too!
Make sure to check out Loaf Deals, Groupon, or LivingSocial for deals if you’re on a budget! I was an avid user of the Loaf Deal for Sweet Auburn BBQ. My fingers are crossed… I really hope they bring it back!
I also like perusing through used books at Sisters BookShop. I found old favorites like Christopher Pike novels for $1 each! That’s a no brainer. Make sure to check them out if you have some time to kill.
The Curb Market is easily accessible by foot from GSU, but if you’re coming from other nearby downtown places, then make sure to try the Atlanta StreetCar. It stops right in front of the market, and it’s free fares for the rest of 2015. If you validate your parking ticket, then you can also get a free hour.
