Cohutta National Forest
4 miles back and forth
The hike up is pretty strenuous, but going down is a lot easier. You can run about half of the trail, which is what we did going down. I would save the running for the descent though. Going up this mountain is like going up flights of stairs with a few breaks in between. Some of the rocks were literally placed like stair steps. It’s a great leg workout. It took us 52 minutes to reach the top, and 40 minutes to go down.
